The coming week is finals week for me, after that I just have work. As of late I've wanted to give OPnPW one more solid go, a huge re-do of some parts, and run the server on a decent machine on my own for better up-time.
However, I don't want to re-do a project just to see it wither a way, so I'd like to know how many people are still on, how many people still enjoy a campaign romp and who has ideas, who likes something, who thinks its perfect. In short, who's here?
I know people are busy, I'm busy too, but please, take a moment to jot down some quick thoughts, be it the 100 post member, or a lurker. If you know someone who's a member, but lurking or away, give them a buzz, see if they're interested in a nother run at OPnPW. Are you? Should I be?
If theres the team, I'll do what I can.

Billy RAWR!!! SMASH!!!
Cian I'll charge in and attack!
Me I'll cast bless on the party!
Aoife I'll hide under the coach =(

I'm a permanent fixture here. I'm currently running a twice weekly game, in two games, and am going to be hosting another game here sometime in the future (as well as another FFRPS testgame, but that's tba).

Alright, here are my ideas
a visual dice interface (with a picture of a D20 you click on and get a roll, etc.)
and definitely that graphic interface of combat scenes you started to work on a while back
perhaps giving out some source code so other people can make the character sheets, make this like the linux of online table tops!
allow us to do some of the work for you, which speaking of which, i've been tossing around a couple of skins...When i make some, i can take some screenshots and send em to you and you can put em online in the resources section and stuff

i love this program, and i really hate playing at another place.

I am likewise here to stay, though over the summer I won't be very active. I will likely only be able to check the forums thursdays and saterdays.

I've been here from the beginning, or close to it. I might leave sometimes, or be less active other times, but I always come back. OPnPW is my e-home. Even though I don't play much DnD at the moment, I am definitely here to stay.
I have ideas. Oh do I have ideas. But we have a couple hundred people over at the moment (one of those party things) and I have to get back to being a host.

I'm still here, kind of. I'm not very active on the forums, I mean, I check them out occasionally, but I'm not a very big poster. But I still use Opnpw when it's running.
A great idea to make the program stand-outish, would be to put it on the web, so people can use it when they are away from home when they get a spare minute or two and not have to download it everytime. Now that would be sweet, and I think you'd get alot more activity from people who can get online from work (even if it is just a few minutes out of the day, they would still be popping in to see what was going on, etc) which would give Opnpw more attention basically.
But anyways, just an idea. I hope you keep this place running.

Oh. Another great idea, though it might leave leeway for spammers and all, but you could have a built in dice rolling macro. Where you can set those graphic dice buttons as someone mentioned before, to actually roll dice that you want it to. Like uh, say you use this skill alot in D&D, d20+skill bonus could be on the button, then whenever you need it, just click the button and walla. Just another idea... my last post for a while until someone else responds.

i like the web idea. i don't know if that's doable or not.
however, i prefer the way the dice work now. i can't stand clicking, when i can simply type /roll xdy+z

Rook was simply suggesting adding support, not taking it away Arch. Some people like using the mouse more then the keyboard. For them, Rook's idea would be good.

it's not like they'd be taking away things while adding others, it's just adding things on top to make it compatible for as many people as possible. I think the macro's ought to be okay, we don't get enough people that put in the effort to actually spam on the program itself, and we have a couple of moderators anyways. There are macros, i used to have one designed specially for me and almost everyone had it.....if you know what i'm talking about then i hate you....Jozan was AWESOME

My ideas (which I just realize I never got around to posting)
First, I would like to be able to include dice rolls amongst my text. Or any /command for that matter (I don't know how this could make better any other /commands, but if you think of a way why not be able to use it?)
For example: /me swings his trusty battle axe for points of damage.
Muddy swings his trusty battle axe (Dice Roll: 13 out of 1d20+4) for (Dice Roll: 6 out of 1d8+2) points of damage.
I think it would be interesting to be able to create our own buttons (we have the ability to choose which we use currently... but what about the ability to create them!) Included within this feature would be the ability to create button trees (like clicking the dice rolling button and receiving several options as to which dice to roll)
How do you use this? Add coding to each different feature usable by the player (such as calling up a character sheet or the sort) and create a button enabled macro which performs the desired action.
How does this help? Lets say one of my characters has an attack he uses frequently. Muddy in my example above, prehaps uses his battle axe quite often to solve conflicts. So instead of having muddy type out the same message every time, he creates a macroed button to do this for him. If a player had a lot of time on his hands, he could even put his entire character sheet to buttons. Something like:
Muddy (CS)
>Ability Checks
>>Strength
>>Etc
>Saving Throws
>>Fortitude
>>Etc
>Skill Checks
>>Jump
Another feature I would like to see implemented is to have more freedom of formating text mid conversation. To turn a specific portion of text a different color, or change its size. Expanding further upon this, would also be included as mentioned above creating coding to access other aspects of the program through text commands.

mmm, i think the text idea would turn this into a giant AIM chatroom, the colors for type of user is enough formatting, perhaps if there was an option also to reject other text formatting?
or maybe that's what you meant, just for your own machine, in that case that might be neat for some people just to throw in

I like the part about Mixing Text and Dice Rolls personally
Whoa. Whoa. Whoa.
:!: OK! I'm here! Now that I'm here you can get OPNPW running again right? I haven't been able to connect in a very long time. Every other day (just about) I try to sign on to the main and backup server but it never works. Am I just missing the days that it's running? I hope not. But I would seriously like to see this program make a comeback. I will say whatever needs to be said to make this a speedy recovery. That said, I think the program is fine the way it is. Sure, the skins wont load for me so I can't see the buttons, etc. and there is some other wierd little bug that made joining games difficult for me... but I love it none the less. Please bring back the only online roleplaying tool I will ever use.
Now.. I know I'm not very active on the forums but I still love this place. If it doesn't work out for another run.. thanks anyway for the good time I did have here. - DevilLogic

hi
iv been on and off opnpwfor a while(when it was running)
iv even hosted a game on there but now iv become a better dm and i could defenanly use your program. not having to get all 4 of my friends over is so nice any who dont get discuraged
Ideas I forgot if the program has this alrety but a small mapeditor for battles would be nice. nothing big maby just like a few placeable circles and free hand draw would be nice you know for battles.
P.S. will it be working by sunday night cuse i have a game on the 3ed cuse i have a game that day i want to do on the web
Important Community Insight Needed
well, let's hope so.
Hope you stick around!
Also, i have a nifty idea!
Okay, DM's in their own game have an option (or key command or shortcut or something) such that you don't see their name when they type.
Very simple, yet still pretty cool...soo
> I open the door to the right of me at the end of the hallway
> I ready my sword anticipating an attack
As you creep open the door you have a sickening feeling that you've just made a big mistake. The only thing that greets you in this barely lit room is a large smile that's only matched in hideousness by the eyes above it.
Just something to assist in the story-like atmosphere

I'm still here... somewhat. I log onto the forums and the program about once a month just to check on things, but I never see people on the program when I log on. Now that it's summer and I have a whole one friend in town for the next two months, I'll probably be on more often, but I don't know if I'd count on that.
