New player looking for a game.

I made a previous post in the general section and learned alot from the links I was sent. I am looking for more of learning type game if there is one, any system I think, I'm not to sure on those. I'll take almost any type of game but I'd prefer something like medieval time games or modern time zombie survival games (Longshot I think). All replies are appreciated, thank you!

I can DM a pretty good pick up game.. not so good at running campaigns though. I do too much in real life to spend enough time planning stuff out.

If you post your availability and what sort of character you want to play (I DM 3.5e DnD) I can model an adventure around pretty much anything you can come up with. Just keep it in the rules though, I don't much like teaching new players to be munchkins.

I am also new, and it appears that the server has come online. I can play anytime after 4 on the week days, and any time after 8 on the weekends. I live in British Columbia so I think it's Pacific time. My friends like to party a lot so Thursday night through Sunday morning I may not be available.

**Edit**
That zombie idea sounds quite awesome if I do say so myself.

Alright, let me see what I can do in the manner of a DnD style post apocolyptic zombie survival adventure. I won't promise anything though, because real life has thrown me a few corkscrews this last week and it is quite possible that I will be extremely preoccupied.

if you're looking for a style of play that's different in a good way, check out Solace's post about the system he helped Karlth devise.

im a big fan and can probably answer questions you have on it if solace and karlth are ignoring everyone.

Am I gunna have to RP with myself, again?

Just to let you guys know, I'm still looking for a DM to take me in. I would prefer something using the original D&D because I have those books.

1st edition?

"Zey goggles! Zey do nutzing!" - Saber, as Arnie

New player looking for a game.

Yes, but I would be willing to play different editions, but I would have to "obtain" the books and read them first.

New player looking for a game.

i don't think anyone here plays 1st.

the 3.5e books are at d20srd.org

I wanna be a 3rd level elf! What do you mean, "what class"? You're a 3rd level fighter, I'm a 3rd level elf!

Elfin characters for the win![/sarcasm]

"You see now they're thinking about banning toy guns... And they're going to keep the fuckin' real ones!"

Repeating this will totally get you laid.

Elven?

Nope, in older editions (ie, any prior to 3rd, I believe), it was actually elfin. Yuck.

So how do I go about finding what edition my book is? All it says is Player's Handbook, Core Rulebook 1.

New player looking for a game.

its first edition, then.

you can also check the copyright date.

Arch, you're actually almost certainly wrong. The book is most likely 3.0e or 3.5e.

Check out the first page. It will say "Player's Handbook Core Rulebook I" and it might also say v3.5. If it says 3.5, it's the most recent edition (3.5). It if lacks that destinction, I'd venture to say it's 3rd edition.

As Arch said, check the copyright.

It doesn't say what edition, anywhere, but it did say the first printing was in April 2000.

it's third edition, then.

Alrighty then, I'm looking for a DM to take me in for a 3rd edition game.

New player looking for a game.

i really doubt anyone here will DM 3rd edition. 3.5e is just so improved over it.

however, if you familiarize yourself with 3rd edition, it's a good foundation for learning 3.5e. it's the same rules, and style of play, with some tweaks.

Do I need to know all the rules of 3.5e or is it possible to learn my class and let the other members worry about their stuff?

New player looking for a game.

you can just do that Josh since you won't be the DM.. I would also like to join in on this pick up game.
